Parasite Infestation – Knowing the Signs and Symptoms

Even seemingly healthy individuals could fall victims to parasites lurking inside their bodies. Unaware of the dangers brought about by the parasite infestation, they go about their daily routine and take their health for granted.

As the first symptoms show, they started to feel that something is wrong. And as signs continue to progress, there’s but one option left, and that is to consult a doctor. It is only when they are carefully examined in the medical laboratory that the real culprit was finally revealed – parasite.

Parasites are everywhere. But in order to survive and flourish, they need a host where they can get the nourishment they need. When they enter the human body, they feed off from the cells as well as the food we eat. If not controlled, they will grow in numbers and would affect some of your bodily functions.

Basically, parasites can enter the body through the skin, mouth or nose. And humans usually have parasite infestation through sources (or carriers) like mosquito and other insects, contaminated food (fruits and vegetables) and water. Even house pets could be carrying parasites. A contact with someone who has parasites can also transmit these organisms into your body.

Once they have settled in, they will start to multiply. The host body, on the other hand, will start to feel the symptoms. This could be in the form of constipation or diarrhea, joint pain, overall fatigue, rectal itching, loss of appetite, skin rashes, digestive abnormalities like bloating and cramps, prostatitis (or inflammation of the prostate glands), and irritable bowel syndrome.

While it seems that parasite infestation is uncommon, a study of Natural Medicine conducted in 1997 showed that eight of 10 people in North America harbor at least one parasite in their bodies. One of the medical issues that experts have to face is that sometimes, problems caused by these parasites are inadvertently diagnosed as non parasite-related. This leads to wrong diagnosis and eventually, wrong treatment.
