What is a Parasite Cyst?
A parasite cyst by definition is a protective, usually fluid-filled or semi-solid sac that forms around larval parasites that enter the body which include; tapeworms, amoebae, and trichinae. They are caused by protozoan parasites, which is a protozoan that has adapted to invade and live in cells and tissues of other organisms. Protozoan parasites cannot live in the open environment but must invade another organism’s body to obtain nourishment and protection.
